Last night a number of Lewisham based bloggers met up for a drink, we all took our laptops so that we didn't actually have to use spoken words to communicate (only joking!).
It was nice to meet up with some people who I knew quite well already, Max, Andrew, Andrew and Sue for example, put faces to some anonymous bloggers such as Bob from Brockley and the Ragged School blog and find out about about blogs that I hadn't seen before like Tom's, Jens' and John's blogs and Max's second blog.
There was quite a mix, politically speaking, but the fact that Sue was the only woman there did rather reinforce the "blogging is for boys" stereotype.
Note to self, should visit the Jolly Farmers/Jordans more often, they served a very good guest beer. Last night they had two from Cornwall.

It was good to meet you James.
I've given myself a similar note to self re the Jolly Farmer's. I hadn't been there since it was the Hog's Head, and it's exactly what a pub should be.
I also noted the "blogging for boys" stereotype reinforcement. Also, we were mostly of a certain age (average mid/late 30s?), mostly white, and no smokers...
I had a thoroughly good time and am glad others did as well.
On "blogging for boys"; I'd asked at least 2 other women, but one couldn't come and the other didn't reply. But it's a fair point.
Bob, I have to confess I hadn't noticed the non smoking.
Are bloggers healthier than average?
Is there another one planned.
