Is it not illegal to walk in the streets of London impersonating a police officer?

It is good to see that even though our troops in Iraq may not have proper body armour, the local MP is safe on the streets of Peckham.

James,

We can all have our fun - and my goodness the national media have over Harriet Harman.

All I can say is that twice I have done patrols in my ward with the local police. The first time being in June 2006. On neither occasion was there any media coverage.

On the first occasion the area sergeant was quite certain that i must wear a similar jacket to that worn by Harriet Harman.

My point is this - perhaps Harriet Harman was told, if not instucted to wear a jacket. I personaly think Harriet Harman deserves to be criticised on a thousand and more issues, but should she realy be criticised for a policy adopted by Metropolitan police of dealing with visitors joining police on parole?
